Episode 1: Start with the Why (Why are we doing a podcast?)
We are elementary school principals in Rowland Unified School District in Southern California. We have launched this podcast as part of our inquiry to learn, share and apply effective leadership practice.
In this episode, we set the context for the show and our inquiry. We discuss why we started the podcast, why we chose Between the Johns as our show name, and what a PLN means to us. We also give some shout outs to others who inspired us or provided assistance with the technical side of podcasting.

I am so pleased to get episode 1 published. From the concept stage to the final touches, this project was made possible through collaboration with others. Thank you John Staumont for conceiving the idea for the podcast, for being a sounding board for our ongoing ideas, and for your technical know how. I also had lots of help from my wife Sonya and kids Daniel and Karina. Thanks for your patience, encouragement, and some critical feedback. Lastly, we had conversations, texts, tweets and direct messages with many colleagues who helped us with ideas and kept us on track. Thank you friends!
